Government sets minimum threshold for Foreign Investment

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Government of Nepal has set the minimum threshold for foreign investment in accordance with section 3(3) of the Foreign Investment and Technology Transfer Act, 2075 (2019). As per the decision the minimum threshold for foreign investment into Nepal has been set at NPR 50 million per investor. This implies that henceforth any foreign investor, whether a natural person or an entity has to commit to invest NPR 50 million into the Company in Nepal.

The notice has been published by the Government in the Nepal Gazette on the 29th of May, 2019.
